Carrie Kirkpatrick is a dedicated addiction counselor who earned her Master of Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health Practice from Southern Adventist University. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Tennessee. Carrie views recovery as a journey—and a deeply individual process—and sees her role as walking alongside her clients with authentic presence and compassion as they navigate challenges and rediscover healing and meaning in their lives. Her approach is rooted in ethical care, client empowerment, and integrating holistic principles within structured clinical frameworks.
Carrie has specialized training in trauma-informed care and experience in both outpatient and inpatient treatment settings, working with diverse populations affected by substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. She has served at Nashville Addiction Clinic and Recovery Care of Columbia for over a year, providing brief, skills-focused therapy sessions aimed at relapse prevention and stabilization. Carrie also creates a safe, therapeutic space to explore the underlying trauma that often drives addiction. She emphasizes cultivating self-awareness and connection to one’s internal experience, to nature, and supportive relationships as key to emotional regulation, resilience, meaningful change, and long-term recovery.
Outside of work, Carrie is a devoted single mother of four. Her children are her greatest motivation and a constant source of perspective. She is currently in a learning season of homesteading and enjoys preparing homemade meals, growing vegetables and herbs, and using natural home remedies. Carrie finds peace through mindfulness practices and feels most grounded when mentoring young adult women in her community.
