Karen L. Morgan, MA, P-LPC, LADAC II, QCS, MAC, SAP, is an experienced counselor serving patients at Recovery Care of Columbia and Nashville Addiction Clinic. With more than 34 years of experience in the field, Karen brings extensive knowledge of addiction treatment, mental health counseling, trauma-informed care, and recovery to her work with patients.
Karen earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University and her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. She has been a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC II) since 1998 and is a Qualified Clinical Supervisor (QCS). She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Karen’s clinical approach integrates attachment-based therapy with evidence-based and patient-centered methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, person-centered therapy, strengths-based approaches, and trauma-focused interventions. Her goal is to meet each patient where they are and support their individual healing and recovery journey with compassion, curiosity, and respect.
An additional area of Karen’s focus is menopause-informed addiction care. She recognizes that hormonal transitions can influence emotional regulation, mental health, substance use, and recovery, and incorporates this understanding into individualized care when appropriate.
Karen was drawn to this work by a deeply held belief that healing becomes possible when people feel genuinely seen, understood, and supported without judgment. Her own recovery journey further inspired her commitment to helping others heal from addiction, trauma, and attachment wounds while building lives grounded in hope and meaningful connection.
At Recovery Care of Columbia and Nashville Addiction Clinic, Karen’s extensive experience and integrated therapeutic approach support the clinics’ commitment to compassionate, individualized addiction treatment. She believes effective counseling should recognize each person’s experiences and strengths while creating a safe environment for growth, healing, and lasting recovery.
Outside of work, Karen enjoys spending time with her family and grandchildren, traveling, and continuing to learn about wellness and personal growth. She finds that these experiences of connection, curiosity, and joy help keep her grounded and bring warmth and authenticity to her work.
Fun Fact:
Karen grew up in a recovery environment, an experience that helped shape her deep appreciation for the healing power of community, connection, and hope.
