Headshot of Amy Pickett, Addiction Counselor at Recovery Care of Columbia and Nashville Addiction ClinicAmy Pickett is a licensed Addiction Counselor (LADAC II) in Tennessee and a Doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology. Her current doctoral research focuses on improving retention in medication-assisted treatment (MAT) programs and enhancing patient engagement, which are key components in supporting long-term recovery.

Amy holds multiple degrees, including a Master’s in Psychology from Purdue University, a Master’s in Rehabilitation from the University of Arkansas, a Bachelor’s from the Medical University of South Carolina, and an Associate’s in Health Science. 

She also brings extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other evidence-based practices.

Before transitioning into the field of psychology, Amy spent over a decade working in physical therapy in outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, and rehabilitation for individuals with visual impairments. Her professional journey later took her overseas with her family, where she spent seven years living in France and Asia, gaining a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and perspectives.

Amy’s unique background in physical rehabilitation and international living informs her compassionate, integrative approach to therapy. She is passionate about helping individuals navigate recovery and believes in meeting clients where they are, with empathy, respect, and culturally sensitive care.
